In the early years, West Brom changed their stadium on many occasions. They showed a great pedigree in the cup competitions, reaching the final five times in the space of ten years, winning the FA Cup in 1888 and 1893. West Brom became the founder members of the football league in the year 1888 and their only league championship title to date came at the end of the 1919 – 1920 league season. In the year 1954, West Brom defeated Preston to win the FA Cup and they won the league cup in the year 1966. Their most recent major triumph was winning the 1968 FA Cup final, defeating the mighty Everton. Albion suffered relegation out of the top flight at the end of the 1985 – 1986 season and did not find their was back in to the first tier until they starred in the premiership during the 2002 – 2003 season. Bryan Robson helped West Brom survive in the premier league at the end of the 2004 – 2005 campaign; however they suffered relegation the following season.

Tony Brown – Tony Brown was a skilful winger who hit a record breaking 218 goals for West Brom during his 16 year tenure at the Hawthorns. To this date, he also holds the record of most league appearances for West Brom with 574 in a career that spanned between 1963 and 1980. He also played his international football for England.
