The club turned professional in the year 1905 and it was during the 1920 – 1921 season that Norwich entered the new third division however spent much of the next decade fighting to avoid relegation. Their fortunes improved under the guidance of Tom Parker. He led the Canaries in to the second division in his debut season at the club. They reached the FA Cup semi finals in 1959 and they reached their first major domestic cup final in 1962, defeating Rochdale in the league cup final. Norwich finally found promotion in 1972 in to the top flight. They lost the league cup final against Tottenham in 1973 and once again they reached the League cup final in 1975, suffering defeat against Aston Villa. They once again returned to Wembley in 1985 as they reached the league cup final, winning the trophy as they defeated Sunderland. They spent the late 80’s and most of the 1990’s in the top flight. They finished the 1992 -1 993 season in third position in the premiership, Mike walker taking them through the title race for most the campaign. Norwich defeated Bayern Munich in the 1993 – 1994 UEFA Cup campaign. After suffering relegation in the late 90’s, they re entered the premiership in the 2004 – 2005 season, however suffered immediate relegation at the end of the season.

Great Players

Martin O’Neill  - During his two spells at Carrow Road, O’Neill won 18 caps for Northern Ireland and in total in his career won 64 caps. He signed to Norwich City from Nottingham Forest, a club he won the league title and European cup with. He finished his career off playing for Northern Ireland in the 1982 world cup finals.
