Name of Club – Bristol Rovers FC
Year founded – 1897
Ground Name – Twerton Park

Bristol Rovers entered the third division in 1921 and the next decade was a decent time for Rovers. By the year 1939, they had fallen into debt and had to re apply for election in to the football league. Their fortunes failed to improve until new manager, Bert Tann was installed in charge of the club and his team won promotion into the second division where they remained for eight years. The 1970’s was a decent time for the club, reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup in 1978 and 1979. They suffered relegation in 1983 back into the third division, however, after a convincing 1989 – 1990 campaign, they topped the third division, earning promotion to the second division. They could not sustain a place in the second division and have hovered around the third and fourth division over the last decade.
