Ground Name – Valley parade

Bradford City made their top flight debut in the year 1908 and carved their name on the FA Cup in 1911. In 1922, Bradford were relegated in to the second division and they fell further in to the third division in 1927. Over the next 50 years, Bradford City scattered around the lower divisions. In the year 1982, Trevor Cherry was installed as the new manager and led them back in to third division football. Three years later he took the side in to the second division in 1986. They were relegated back to the third division in 1990 under Terry Yorath. They gradually improved during the 1990’s and earned promotion in to the premiership in 1999 and survived two years in the top flight under Paul Jewell.

Great players
Stuart McCall
McCall was outstanding for Bradford during his time at the club. He was an inspirational figure in the Bradford midfield during their successful climb up the league during the 1980’s and in his first six seasons at the Valley parade, he scored 37 goals in 238 appearances before moving on to play for Everton for a staggering £850,000. He came back to Bradford in the mid 1990’s and is an ex Scottish football international.
